You are conflating people not being bad, being thus good.
They don’t automatically become good people, just because they are not bad.
There is a whole range between being a good human being, and being a bad human being. People “just not acting out” what they would like, and seeking help doesn’t make them GOOD people. It probably makes them “not bad people”, but only in this specific case.



We seem to agree about everything? Or so I think.
Even the idea that acting against your natural urges is the ultimate goodness.
But you don’t know that, many pedophiles might just do it to fit in in society, they got caught up in the help process (or whatever reason), and not for some empathic reason. There are obviously both IMO, hence the not bad doesn’t automatically mean good.
It is quite interesting how people want to believe everyone is sort of baseline good (or so I feel), which is nice I guess!
